Urban Planner, Small Business Owner, and Mom of Two (Energetic) Kids

The Experience to Bring Effective Action

As a parent and community builder, I’ve come to realize that to ensure a bright future for my kids and all generations ahead, I must use my professional and leadership skills to organize and show up for a city that’s been heading in the wrong direction.

We cannot afford the type of politics that demonstrates zero willingness to consider how fewer community programs and higher fees for families will impact everyday people.

I’ve been an urban planner at the City and a Board Director of non-profit organizations that focus on building healthy communities. I know how the City functions, how to govern effectively, and how to bring in different voices to create strong communities. I will use my experience to bring forward policies that lead to action and help create a more inclusive, connected, and sustainable city.

  • Current Lead Planner at TransLink, with over 16 years of urban planning experience, and have worked in public, private, and non-profit sectors

  • Former City of Vancouver Senior Transportation Planner

  • Former Co-Chair of Women Transforming Cities and a former Board Director of the Trout Lake Community Centre Association

  • Graduated with a Masters of Science in Community and Regional Planning from UBC

  • Small business owner, A Healthy Beginning, that empowers people to lead greener and healthier lifestyles.

  • Passionate about helping create complete, diverse and inclusive communities

To ensure a bright future for my kids and all generations ahead, I must use my professional and leadership skills to organize and show up for a city that’s been heading in the wrong direction.

Bold Actions to Make Vancouver Truly Livable

  • Enable more affordable housing options and multi-use developments in all neighbourhoods

By allowing more affordable housing options such as social and supportive housing, and mixed-use developments in all parts of the city, we would create more inclusive and welcoming communities that are complete with essential services and amenities. Having childcare, grocery stores, medical clinics, art and culture spaces, recreational facilities, and restorative green spaces within walking and cycling distance would reduce transportation costs, improve livability, and lead to health benefits.

  • Deeply engage groups often under-represented, including Indigenous and racialized communities

Vancouver is a city of many races and ethnicities. We need to rethink how we plan and design our neighbourhoods, and build trust within communities so that the voices and experiences of under-represented groups, including women, LGBTQ2S+ communities, Indigenous peoples, racialized communities, people with disabilities, and low-income households, shape the future of Vancouver.

  • Make walking, cycling, and using transit safer and more convenient for people across the City

Everyone should be able to get around safely and affordably. Having physical infrastructure and programs that ensure the safety of people walking and cycling such as protected bike paths and red-light cameras at problematic locations, and making transit easier and more reliable to use will mean more people can get around without fear of being harmed or worry about spending a lot of their hard-earned dollars on transportation.
